The business area Drug Substances (APIs) focuses on development and production of customer specific pharmaceutical ingredients and intermediates as well as on controlled substances (narcotics and analgesics) like methadone and nicotine. The business area Drug Products is specialized on sterile filling of drugs and on oral drug delivery systems, with in-house developments available for licensing, custom development and manufacturing, as well as finished dosage form products. Siegfried employs after the acquisition of two production sites of Novartis about 3,500 people worldwide.
